Imagine your enterprise using design and storytelling.
A workshop for start-uppers, or “step-uppers” or anybody thinking about the next move. For movers. For enterprisers! At PopinnPark we like to connect and inspire. For that reason we joined forces with the storytellers of Magoga in creating a super inspiring and hands-on workshop to make ideas reality. Every story is an enterprise... Centuries ago there lived... “A king!” my little readers will say immediately. No, children, you are mistaken. Once upon a time there was a piece of wood. (Carlo Collodi, “The adventures of Pinocchio”) Stories! How many! All different, yet all similar. All stories have something in common. There is a protagonist, a little, big, young, old, famous, infamous, strong, fragile protagonist . He tries to achieve something. He tries to change. The story can change him. A piece of wood turning into a boy and then into a man, that’s quite a change. That’s what we call a real enterprise. ... and every enterprise is a story. “Once upon a time there was a famous entrepreneur...” REWIND. “Once upon a time there was the son of a Syrian migrant to the US...” There are many ways to tell the story of Steve Jobs, founder of Apple Inc. Some ways are more engaging than others. Inside all of us: the movers, the creators, the organizers, the do-ers, the sellers, the thinkers... inside every person there is a story. So personal, so universal. So important. Why are we so keen on stories? |
Let’s design our future!
Life is made of choices. Coca Cola or Fanta? Bachelor of Art or Science? Single or married? Cat or dog? Settle down or emigrate? Should I stay or should I go? Choices. Some are easy. Some are not. But they are all important, cause they determine who we are and meant to be. What are we choosing tomorrow? It depends on what we chose yesterday. Everyday, act after act, page after page, we are writing our story. The pages we wrote are suggesting those to come. Let’s read them together. How do we work? We invite you to a workshop, a playground for experimenting with design and storytelling. HOW DOES IT WORK? 15 people, supported by 2 Storytrainers. 3 sessions of two hours each. Divided in two days. Saturday and sunday We’ll talk about companies and stories to inspire us and help to pave our way. A journey that starts from the personal experience and leads to drawing maps and to telling a stories. A journey in 3 steps. 1. my Map You map your values and desires. 2. my Story You use your maps for orienting and writing a story. 3. my World We discuss together the social context in which our stories are taking place. WHAT DO WE PRODUCE? THE TOOLS... We will design a map (MAP-ME) of your key values, write a short story (STORY-ME) and other objects like the PYRA-ME, a little gadget summing up what really matters in your life. |
What’s the goal? The outreach? To design a map of values and desires. To help orientate through this challenging time. To facilitate the start of your enterprise. The workshop is run by two passionate designers and incurable travelers. Bruno and Salvatore. They communicate in English, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, with gestures, drawings, songs and food. Bruno Bonisiol (1971) studied Media Communication in Bologna, Art Direction in Milan and Storytelling in Amsterdam. He loves to blend ideas, images, words, stories. He lives and works between Amsterdam and Venice cause he loves bridges, especially those that unite peoples and cultures. Salvatore Restivo (1979) studied Art Techniques and Performing Arts at the University Ca ‘Foscari of Venice. After working in 2012 at the Armando Testa agency in Turin, he founded the Studio Magoga, a collective of designers, photographers, illustrators, visual designers. Bruno, Salvatore and the Magoga team spend all their time with stories. They tell them for companies and institutions, large and small, Italian and International. Now they want to support new “enterprisers” in telling theirs. Are you ready? Start-uppers, inventors, NGOers, educators, dreamers, doers. Everybody has a story to tell, and an enterprise to get going.
